!NOTES:Graduated from Kansas State Agricultural College in 1893. An attorney, was admitted to the Bar Sep 4, 1894 at Garden City, Kansas. Practiced several years in Trinidad, Colorado and later in Taos Co where he had moved in 1897.
A Representative in the House of the 34th Legislative Assembly. Appointed district attorney for the First Judicial District by Gov. Otero in 1901, serving five terms, under three governors. In 1908 appointed Assistant United States Attorney of New Mexico. Elected as first Judge of the First Judicial District under to the State Government on Nov. 7, 1911. Colonel of the First Infantry, Nation Guard of New Mexico since 1909. In 1916 the National Guard was mobilized to Columbus, New Mexico with Col. Abbott in command and served under General Pershing ("The Leading Facts of New Mexican History" by R.E. Twitchell, Vol V, pp 391-395).
